If you’re planning on buying a Lenovo product, please reconsider

I bought this computer, Lenovo yoga 730, less than a year ago. And within that year I’ve troubleshooted the wifi, litteraly billions of times. Bc the idiots at Lenovo we’re so cheap that they decided it was a good idea to invest in wifi chips that do not work, instead of paying 3 extra dollars for ones that do. I have never in my life had a computer that not only fails miserably to stay connected to the internet, which even fridges or weighing scales nowadays excel at. But 8 months in the battery starts failing too.
I gotta say when I told their forum they told me that they know of the issue however continue manufacturing these faulty devices and that I was unlucky to have got one.
So all in all worst computer ever
Please for the love of everything don’t buy Lenovo products, they suck and it’d be better to spend ur money on any other company.
Needless to say Lenovo yoga 730 creator, Fuck you and I hope u die painfully in a ditch.

Lenovo Fails and Fails Again

In 2016, I got a Lenovo Phab 2 Pro, a smart phone with Google Tango VR. It was huge and heavy. Well, at the time, I thought I could overlook the obvious shortcomings in design and enjoy the virtual reality. It came with some interesting VR stuff and it would let you measure things via its cameras with a certain degree of accuracy. I enjoy the large screen but the colors were kind of washed out.

Very soon, I noticed very obvious problems. It does not support 4G LTE on AT&T network. After a couple software updates, it started supporting 4G LTE but only in certain areas when I travel, but not at home. My house has a line of sight to a cell tower.

When playing music, OMG, it was horrible. No matter how expensive the headphones are, the music coming out of this thing is just pure lousy.

When in a voice call, even the volume is up all the way, the caller on the other end sounded like mosquitoes, tiny and low volume.

No problem. I was hoping future software updates will address most of the problems. Then, Lenovo dropped the ball. It stopped supporting this phone in less than 10 after it rolled out. That means, it will get stuck with Marshmallow and there will be no software updates to address any of the issues.

I know that companies always update their product line. However, in this case, Lenovo took people’s money and just left them out hanging. This experience with Lenovo is really like a highway robbery. And Lenovo really has a huge ethics problem abandoning its customers. Lenovo lacks vision, lacks strategy and clearly does not care about customer retention.

Lenovo yoga tab 3 And ideapad 100 15-ibd

Lenovo yoga tab 3 is most shittiest tablet Ever made in 2015 And my lenovo ideapad 100 15ibd Always slower than my current iPhone 5. Lenovo had to make a new metal not That garbage plastic, plastic could have scratch And Getting splashed by water from my accident And half of Keys were water damage Now in last 2019 november i destroyed my ideapad 100 Because It sucks, garbage, most unfixable i cannot to fix hard disk in lift… It shouldnt have done in 2019 Then i gave lenovo yoga tab 3 to my brother And he feels great but for me is shittier

Lenovo is Pure Shit

Lenovo is pure shit. I first bought a Lenovo in 2015, I believe. It was a Yoga 2. Right out of the box, it was defective. It was unusable. Nothing would come up for some reason. I exchanged it for another one. Within 2 years, after experiencing little bugs here and there, the hard drive completely failed. I didn’t learn from my mistake and I bought a Lenovo Yoga 910. I just hit 2 years with it and the touch screen just stopped working all of a sudden. I tried several fixes and nothing worked. I’ve also read that this is a common problem and there really isn’t a good fix for it anywhere. Also, Lenovo does nothing about it. Today, the battery stopped charging while plugged in. It’s not the power cord because I checked it, so it’s most likely the port where the charger plugs in to. It’s just problem after problem and their products barely make it to 2 years. I will never, ever buy another garbage Lenovo product again. That’s what I get for buying chink shit.

I Hate Lenovo

I got a Lenovo ideapad 110 it has crashed on me since I recieved it 3 times without the ability to go into safe mode or restart to the point I’ve lost everything and had to reset to factory settings. I am currently resetting it now thanks to another famous system crash. I hate Lenovo

Lenovo Ideapad 320, the worst laptop

I bought a Lenovo Ideapad 320 in 2018.
I have it now nowadays, but it es nearly unusable, because it is terribly slow, it crashes constantly, the WiFi connection doesn’t work, it is really noisy…
The worst laptop I ever had.

Never purchase Lenovo

Levono will update your software so you can not print – to my guess it is to scam you into purchasing something to then allow you to print. It’s amazing how an update was done on my computer than I suddenly couldn’t print.

Keys stick and cursor moves on its own.

I have an ideapad 320 just a few months old: I hate that lenovo cursor jumps around and it gets worse with use. Sadly this is the same problem I had with the last lenovo, exactly the same! Why oh why did I buy another lenovo??? The salesman assured me this was a better model and it was for about a week. Hate it. What to do with it now?

Burn in hell Lenovo

Moto force z2. Or some bullshit name like that. Is a $720. Piece of shit. I hope they are outta business very soon..very simple things on the phone do not work very good at all. Like the power button…u have to hold it forever for it to catch….wtf so frustrating….screenshot never worked….then all of a sudden they sent out a up date i guess then started working… Too many things with this phone that really suck. Burn in hell mfers. U suck…

Worst Laptop EVER

A supposed friend recommended this piece of crap Lenovo Ideapad 330. WORTHLESS right out of the box! SLOW? It’s glacial! PLUS the Lenovo website wants you to PAY for their troubleshooting advice! 🤬💩🤦‍♀️

Lenovo Eat my Shit

This has absolutely been the worst 1.5 years of my life. The lenovo Ideapad is absolute shit. The battery life sucks. The processor is so slow and hangs more than 50% of the usage time. The screen resolution is so freaking low. This is truely a heavy piece of useless rock. Can’t wait for Black Friday to buy a new laptop and get rid of this one. I would never even give this laptop to my worst enemy.

In fact Lenovo ought to be paying its customers for using this piece of trash. The OS loads so freaking slowly, I’ve had to often reboot the laptop like a million times. Battery life is god awful.

Issues upon issues

I haven’t even had my lenovo ideapad 330s for a year and I’ve already had to get it fixed because it had an issue with a black screen. This was about 2 months into my purchase. It is now 10 months that I’ve had this laptop and it’s already starting to deteriorate at a rapid pace.
At times, it takes forever to turn on, giving me fears of black screen again. The sound absolutely SUCKS and my phone speaker is so much louder than this.
When I idle, the pointer gets stuck and lags.

Never again. I am so disappointed with this laptop.

Lenovo is trash

I bought my Lenovo Yoga 720 15IKB in May of 2018. It has been an awful ride.

First, the housing is weak and will warp if subjected to normal everyday wear and tear.

Second, my screen started to not work because of the warping. I then submitted a service request. Easy enough. No. Three times later and I had a functioning laptop.

Now, my camera is not working and lenovo says my warranty is for another computer. I have gone to my university tech support, booted through ubuntu and the camera still doesnt work. The tech support person I talked to would not give me a straight answer about whether or not my computer was under warranty or if they could help me.

I will never buy lenovo again, and neither should you. Buy a windows surface on sale, they’re much nicer.

Lenovo is rubbish

this is my first Lenovo and my last, I have just brought the ideapad S145. I am struggling to cut and paste, every time I try upload a photo to ebay I get error, yet the woman in the shop said it was ideal for ebay use as that’s what I do most

Don’t buy Lenovo laptop, it is worst

My laptop is Lenovo ideapad 320, which has 16GB memory, 2 Tera Harddisk, Intel i7 and 7 Gen. Worst laptop ever had. I was having impression on Lenovo laptop since longtime, but after buying this laptop I fed-up, and even you cannot use internet browsing. I have done all the setting which can find from internet, but that is for temporary. It is stucking always, very slow. I never buy again anymore LENOVO product and never recommend any.

ThinkPads are Complete Garbage, Get an IBM

The ThinkPad’s take so fucking long to startup, around a good 5 minutes or so. They are actual trash & shut down while at less than 10%, right after it gives you the warning. They are really weak, hitting a surface mildly hard, & a piece breaks off or it fucking messes with the screen. And they are too slow for educational use, since my school gives each of us a ThinkPad. There’s a lot more, but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have the time to list all this bullcrap.

Lenovo Sucks!

I purchased a Lenovo Think Station on April 19, 2019. It was Dead On Arrival (NO Video Post). They executed 4 service orders with no success (Motherboards, CPU,etc) and even a replacement machine. It is now September 17, 2019 and I do NOT have a machine that has successfully booted even ONCE!

Shit battrry

Piece of shit lasts 30 minites on a full charge…

It has 12gb ram
128gb PCI-E BASED NVME SSD
1TB sata hdd (5400rpm)
Intel core i5 8300h 3.6GHz 8 cores
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 2gb

And the battery suckssasssss

Less than one year working

Bought a Lenovo Yoga 920 for 1200 dollars. Was really impressed at the beggining. Everything about my choice seemed to be good. Started to present problems in like 8 months after going out of the store. Restarting by itself. Cannot find the HD. Blue screens. Is not turning on. Went to google only to find tons of people with the same problem. Shitty laptop. If you’re on the fence, don’t buy it. Not worth it.

Bunch of useless tools at Lenovo

Tried to get ONE single technical question answered by Lenovo sales team. One hour, chat and 7 people on the phone later and we still have no answer. They bounced us around on the phone, back and forth between IBM and Lenovo, between sales and tech service, between US side and somewhere in China. Most of them didn’t even understand what we were talking about because they don’t speak proper English! Total bullshit company. Time to go to Dell or HP. IBM should have never sold to these clueless idiots.

Crap by association

2ovLeQf

I bought my Lenovo Yoga 900 quite expensive about 1450€ (2016). It worked perfectly with Linux and I was quite impressed with the machine. And since Lenovo is a mayor player in the corporate market I felt “safe”.

Summer 2018 it started behaving strange and I worried that EFI/bios had been corrupt or infected. I updated the machine with the latest BIOS firmware from their homepage.
Suddenly there were less options and less control of the machine. It is unclear whether it was a legit update from their homepage or a trojan.

I contacted the support and they informed my that my warranty had expired (after 2 years) and that they basically was uninterested in providing support. After a couple of mails they suggested making a restore of the computer and that it would reset the BIOS to the defaults. Since I’ve been using Linux and *BSD on the machine I had removed the restore partition (restore partitions on the computer is a fucking bad idea since it can be corrupted and infected when using the machine, windows or linux).

I now tried their DRDS(after hours spent looking for the right page on their fucking crappy site)

From what I gathered there was digital media downloadable for my specific machine. When submitting my computers serial number I was informed that there was no media for my specific machine, available for download and that I would contact the support. I contacted the support and they directed my to Medion (this fantastic and wonderful, competent, techie organisation) I got a price for about 40€ for the restore medium. I got pissed for their unprofessional behaviour and the deep incompetence shown. I had to work with what I had yet pissed everytime I used my crippled computer.

Summer 2019. Thunderstorms and shitty weather in June. Used the computer during the evening, the following morning it would not start.
Fuck. I was certain that the computer had fried the only life I got from the machine was the power led and that it reacted to the charger. I tried stuff suggested on different sites. Holding the power button for a minute and so on. Nothing worked.

I had to contact the support and got tips from them, that didn’t work. I decided to send it to Medion (theese guys are just fucking fantastic) for evaluation. After a couple of days I was informed that. CPU, motherboard and harddrive was fried and that it would cost about 1550€ to repair it. I believed them. The thunderstorm had probably ruined my crippled, yet previously, responsive machine. I contacted my insurance company and decided to buy a new machine. Sadly. Since the machine was quite enough for my needs. The insurance company asked me to send them the faulty device for evaluation/recycling (they always to this from what I gather)

I got the machine from “Medium” and was ready to pass it on to my insurance company. But what the hack. I unpacked it connected the charger and tried. It started. Everything worked, hdd, mb, memory, touch-screen. Just as it had before the thunderstorm. Probably the CMOS-battery had lost it’s charge and reset the machine. I don’t think they even bothered to open up the machine. They obviously deemed perfectly working components as faulty. This is not som intermittent shit(it works all the time now). This is the work of incompetent, fucking liars selling returned computers and makes a nice profit. (hard to find any other explanation to their behaviour. not only incompetence)

Btw. I also use Motorola and their support is also lousy.

Lessons learned.
For me: Stay the fuck away from Lenovo and it’s affiliates.

For Lenovo: Be market leaders in corporate environments, then surround yourself with morons and watch everything fall. Accuse your customers for being “hard” and liars then cry as the ground comes rushing to you.

You guys
Are retarded

Lenovo ShitPad

At my previous job I had to use a crappy ThinkPad and it was brand new at the time, mind you. Piece of shit was slow, overheated frequently (once it shut down suddenly when I was just about to save the file I’d been working on) and to top it off the keyboard quality was crap.

I thought OK — maybe it was a lemon. Recently my brother gave me his 1st gen X1 Carbon as a hand-me-down and I took it. If only I’d known…

I can’t even reset the FPOS to factory settings, and Lenovo gladly offers recovery media for Windows 7 laptops but not my W7 upgraded to W8.1 laptop. WTF is up with that?

Garbage

I bought a LENOVO ideapad 310 a couple years ago. Neve owned a laptop so full of bloatware. I will not buy another and will discourage others from purchasing anything LENOVO as well.

Stinkpad is Crap

I bought two Lenovo stink pads and they are absolutely rubbish. When not connected to the internet they work fine. But as soon as you connect the data or to the wifi it freezes up so bad I feel like smashing it against the wall. I now no longer have to wonder why the deal was so good or cheap on the two tablets it is because They are crap. Any cheaper and they where almost given away free. My colleague has a lenovo idea pad model unknown witch I had to load a program on to. And it is also as slow as a snail. He then asked me why it is so slow witch I replied it is because it is a lenovo piece of crap. Upon reading loads of reviews on lenovo stinkpad/idea pad it seems to me I was not far of that it is just a general problem that lenovo is crap !!! I realy should learn to read reviews of a product before buying them

Cheap construction

My Y720 worked pretty well, but then one of the usb ports quit working, and then another. Luckily the third still works, so I can use a multiplier. Then the cheap plastic parts which hold the screen to the keyboard started breaking whenever I would open it, and now it is pretty much demolished, cracked, broken off pieces, etc. Never again.

Terrible platform

I have received T570 in a new job after years of various HP ProBooks and DELL Latitudes. I have never had so many harware issues and failures in 5 years as with T570 over one month.
Battery not charging, BSOD when removed from dock, sometimes it could not find NVMe SSD, so it won’t boot at all. Ramdom restarts, takes 10-15 seconds to re-activate screen from sleep. Original power plug buzzing like chinese knock-off. Support told me, that the laptop is fine, so here is their standard loud and clear.

A Delicate Flower of a Computer

I purchased a Lenovo Yoga 920 about a year ago, and previously I had a MacBook that I kept for almost a decade. While this computer is much faster, obviously, and more compatible with new software, it has always seemed a bit fragile in ways my MacBook never did. The buttons to adjust the screen brightness randomly either work or don’t. USB devices are consistently not recognized. The fingerprint sign-in will stop working for days or weeks at a time, then randomly be fine again, and it doesn’t always seem to be connected to a software update. The cursor will often move itself when I am editing text, and more than once I have deleted whole passages unintentionally because of it. Not every text program has an “undo” function, so this can result in a lot of lost work!

I’m also a student in a science field, and most open-source software that I use on this computer displays in awkward and often semi-unusable ways. Not sure if most scientists just write code mainly for Macs, but most of my colleagues seem pretty Mac loyal.

None of my issues have seemed large enough to go through the hassle of Lenovo’s famously bad customer service, but I have a growing expectation that at some random moment this computer will just fail. Which is to say, I don’t trust it at all. I can’t recommend this brand.

Lenovo problems

My Lenovo Yoga 500 is slow as hell. There is no backup of the OS, and when I searched for OS disk sold separately, I’ve found that Lenovo no longer sell OS backup disks for that laptop, and I cannot reinstall Windows on my laptop, because Windows OS from Microsoft site differs from the one preinstalled on my device.

I though before buying the laptop to risk getting it with 4Gb memory, and I scheduled a memory upgrade later. But I had to learn that almost no way to upgrade memory, because it just doesn’t work with the 99% of consumer memories.

Never again

I got a Lenovo Yoga for work and basic internet. I have hardly used the laptop, besides the occasional updates and emails.
It is more than a brick now. Slow on every process, minimal usage and I am waiting over 30 seconds to note a response.
When I bought this I thought: “I just need something for work” It didnt matter to me what brand as long as it had slightly better specs than what I needed.
Now, here I am, on a website made to hate a product. Frustrated and annoyed. I have no other way to vent.
Final note: I would not consider myself tech savvy. Although I am quiet experienced with these matters, I still find my self helpless and used. I hope this shows people the experiences of users of this brand prior to investing.

Pretty Vacant

I’m the lucky owner for the past four years or so of a Lenovo Yoga 500. It looks fabulous. Just a shame about what’s under the lid.

First that it is hideously underpowered for running Windows 10, the o/s it comes with. Open up a fairly efficient browser – Chrome say – open up a facebook window and webmail or the like. Go make yourself a cup of coffee while you wait for those to load. Now click between the two windows and drink the coffee while you wait for it to catch up with a heavy task like flicking between two browser tabs.

The other problem, and this seems to be specific to the Yoga range, is that a fault in the charging hardware means that if you leave it plugged in overnight on sleep mode, there’s about a one in three chance it won’t wake up in the morning. When that happens you’re stuck – either leave it for a week for the charge to run down in the battery and you can give it a cold boot from fresh, or invalidate the warranty, unplug the (non-removable) battery, plug it back in and get out of the error state it’s in that way.

Lenovo tech support swear there is no such problem despite pages and pages on their forums of people running into the same manufacturing fault.

A shame. The T420 I had previous to this was a brilliant machine, sturdy and with a decent amount of welly — right up to the point that it died stone cold dead three days out of the 12 month warranty, never to boot again.

I really miss IBM making thinkpads…

I’ve always hated Lenovo.

So recently i got a new Lenovo VIBE C, whole absolute shit. Put it to charge for about 5 hours, 20%. Tried using it, Performance: really slow, Battery loss: 5% per minute. YOU CAN’T WORK WITH LENOVO PRODUCTS!

Ideapad

Bought a 330 Ideapad on time (big mistake, I know) in December 2018. Paid extra for warranty service for all issues and mail-in service. Sent for repair two weeks later (late December) as it crashed during a Bios update. Came back with a new hard drive. Re-installed everything.
Returned laptop was horribly slow, crashed randomly. I read every article I could find and deleted every program that might slow it down. Finally gave up and ran their Vantage program. Said it needed a new hard drive. Sent it in for repairs in April 2019. Just got it back. Had to call service repair for info on what they had done. New hard drive and motherboard. I bought a Dell in the meantime. Still paying off the Lenovo. Don’t even want to plug it back in.

Never again

I have a Lenovo desktop which developed a fault, says there’s no operating system (and won’t let me reinstall anything); there’s now a continuous POST beep noise but no amount of troubleshooting is solving the issues. I’ve had the computer since 2012, so I guess it’s off to recycling it goes. I’ve owned and used a lot of computers over the years, this is easily the worst and I won’t be buying another one.

Why is Lenovo a Popular Brand?

I purchased a Lenovo ideapad a little over a year ago and I began experiencing issues within the first few months. The issues I would experience was random stuff out of the blue that made no sense. The camera which would work perfectly fine suddenly stopped working. I had sound issues for a while where I couldn’t hear audio on it and then it would magically work again and then wouldn’t and then would again. I couldn’t talk into the computer like you’re supposed to but when I set the damn thing up, I could. I have issues where if I leave it idle for a couple of minutes, the screen will freeze and the only way to do anything is by restarting it. These are just some of the issues I had with the device. I would admonish anyone to NEVER GO LENOVO. They suck badly

Daemonic Lenovo IdeaPad

This Lenovo ideapad 330 is a P.O.S. It is impossible to get it to perform simple functions, unless you are someone who designs computers and is very computer savvy. It will change screens without apparent reason and take you to a screen that you cannot get out of, unless you understand the myriad number of choices and options the new screen gives you very cheerfully.. It lost the Word function two days ago and I cannot get back to it.
Why it is no longer available is a complete mystery. I opened the computer as I normally do, and the usual list of icons (which included WORD) at the bottom of the screen was missing with no indication of how to get back to these essential functions. The Lenovo ideapad 330 is not just a waste of money, it exceeds the frustration tolerance of a saint. BE WARNED.

So bad

This laptop is a nightmare. I had originally written a bad review but it was deleted by Lenovo.

This computer is junk. It was expensive, $800. It’s speed and performance are massively underwhelming. I have built desktops at half the cost and twice the speed.

It freezes constantly, gets overloaded and crashes. It chokes massively and gets jerky if you open more than 1 program. We aren’t talking games. I mean can’t handle word and a web browser. I had a piece of a very old compaq that runs better and is pushing a decade old. I am tech savvy and have done all my tricks short of replacing hardware to get it to run and nothing works. It has been like this for basically since I got it and will never buy one again.

Only positive, the case is solid and it has a long battery life.

Fan on IdeaPad sounds like a jet plane

Fan on IdeaPad 320 sounds like a jet plane. Spins up and down with typing speed in light app like JUST freakin notepad… let alone multitab web browsing or any real apps. 8GB RAM and i3 should be plenty sufficient for what I am trying to do. Bought SSD because I wanted a quite computer. This is a known issues. Will NEVER buy another Lenovo ever again!

BIOS RUINED MY LAPTOP

I own a lenovo 310 Ideapad laptop for almost a year. I was actually quite pleased with it until…
I get a message FROM LENIVO saying there is a critical update to BIOS that I must install so I install it. Immediately after I can no longer boot past the blue screen of death. Called Lenovo support since PC is still under warranty. My only option is to send the computer to them at my expense and they will wipe all of the info off the machine and reset to factory new status. What about the programs and data I will lose? Not their problem!!!

Lenovo SUCKS!!!

I was looking for the best of the best…got the yoga c930. It is a beautiful laptop but it overheats and there are internet connectivity problems. I have gotten a replacement and still have internet issues. I think I am done with Lenovo…very dissatisfied. What do you do when you buy the highest rated laptop and you have these issues? Who can you trust?

Password lockout=new motherboard

My $1700. Yoga x1 locked me out (son entered wrong passwords). Despite postings elsewhere about possible fixes, every repair guy repeats what Lenovo said: only solution is new motherboard. Lenovo: NO HELP. Shit company. Has shit regard for sucker customers. Enjoy.

Big Downer

I bought a Lenovo Thinkpad E585. Updated it with the Windows 10 October update (I bought the thing in December). Didn’t boot for the entire day and had to re-install the update. I lost a whole day of work. If you encounter this problem and you don’t want to spend the entire day worrying about how much it will cost, just open the backplate and make sure that the fan cable is in securely. I don’t hate Lenovo after this but I will never buy one of these again.

Utterly Useless trash

I purchased a Lenovo Ideapad 520 and only a few months later it’s battery got so hot it crashed my computer. Don’t get a laptop expecting mobile battery because lenovo’s are completely useless and have little to no battery!

I came to customer support and they wouldn’t cooperate with me until my warrenty expired on my laptop. Wow.
My Lenovo is a little over 1 year old and it blue screens, freezes, and crashes constantly, utterly and completely useless. Not to mention their graphics cards are from 2011.

Lenovo, YOU SUCK!!!

Awful Company and Ineffective Customer Service

I ordered two P72 mobile workstations in mid-December. A few days later, Lenovo cancelled the orders claiming the units were out of stock and that they would not be shipping anything or charging me. A week later (after I had placed an order for two slightly different P72 models), they shipped the two original units from the order they cancelled and charged my credit card. I refused them when they arrived since they were now duplicates. They received both units on 1/4 refunded one unit on 1/27. Since then, I have been chasing them around for the refund on the second unit. They’ve now owed me more than $1,700 for more than two months and I’ve been paying the credit card interest, despite eight or nine lengthy phone calls. They may make great computers, but their organization is really screwed up. Once they make a blunder, they don’t seem to be able to fix it. Now I’m promised a refund by the end of March, a full three months after they received the returned units from an order they cancelled that they were never supposed to have shipped in the first place.

Lenovo Sucks Gr”ass”

I bought a Lenovo in October, 2016 and I it’s great. Still functioning very well. I love it. So in 2018 I needed a back up laptop. Bought a Lenovo. It SUCKS! Tech support SUCKS! I have no way to back the thing up. One Key doesn’t exist and links to “free” one key download sites are lies. Tech support is rude as hell and expect you to pay for recovery disks. Oh, there is the little hole on the side of the laptop in case you can’t get the thing to boot up. The laptop is so slow it goes to sleep while I’m trying to work. In order to add memory I have completely disassemble it. Lenovo is so bad, I’m tempted to go back to HP!

Not Smiling

Lenovo thinkpad : the slowest, most frustrating piece of )(*& I have ever dealt with in my life. I can’t even use it as a simple disc drive because it won’t even recognize a disc. It’s a completely useless machine and I am planning to take a hatchet to it. Not kidding.

Order Recovery Disks WHEN you Purchase your Laptop

I just finished a very unsatisfactory service call with Lenovo. I’ve been using an Ideapad U260 for a number of years but it recently started freezing and after trying a number of unsuccessful uninstalls I decided the best solution was to blow away everything and reinstall the OS, in this case Windows 7.

The technician informed me that Recovery Disks are only available when the unit is in warranty!!! This is terrible customer support. .

Furthermore, this model, U260, does not even appear on their support site (but their utility detects it) and Lenovo never made driver available for a Windows 10 upgrade. More terrible customer support.

I certainly will take this into account when I consider my next laptop
