Lenovo Sucks Gr”ass”

I bought a Lenovo in October, 2016 and I it’s great. Still functioning very well. I love it. So in 2018 I needed a back up laptop. Bought a Lenovo. It SUCKS! Tech support SUCKS! I have no way to back the thing up. One Key doesn’t exist and links to “free” one key download sites are lies. Tech support is rude as hell and expect you to pay for recovery disks. Oh, there is the little hole on the side of the laptop in case you can’t get the thing to boot up. The laptop is so slow it goes to sleep while I’m trying to work. In order to add memory I have completely disassemble it. Lenovo is so bad, I’m tempted to go back to HP!

Not Smiling

Lenovo thinkpad : the slowest, most frustrating piece of )(*& I have ever dealt with in my life. I can’t even use it as a simple disc drive because it won’t even recognize a disc. It’s a completely useless machine and I am planning to take a hatchet to it. Not kidding.

Order Recovery Disks WHEN you Purchase your Laptop

I just finished a very unsatisfactory service call with Lenovo. I’ve been using an Ideapad U260 for a number of years but it recently started freezing and after trying a number of unsuccessful uninstalls I decided the best solution was to blow away everything and reinstall the OS, in this case Windows 7.

The technician informed me that Recovery Disks are only available when the unit is in warranty!!! This is terrible customer support. .

Furthermore, this model, U260, does not even appear on their support site (but their utility detects it) and Lenovo never made driver available for a Windows 10 upgrade. More terrible customer support.

I certainly will take this into account when I consider my next laptop

Utter Shit

As a student wfi couldn’t afford much, I ended up with a Lenovo laptop. They are utter trash and I would highly recommend thar no one ever buys one. Having owned the laptop for LESS THAN 6 months the hardrive already had to be replaced. Fast forward to less than a year, the laptop is stuck on ‘Preparing automatic repair’ loop and refuses to even start up.

It’s confirmed, Lenovo sucks

My company gave me a Lenovo P71 for work and it sucks! Constant Lenovo SW updates popping up, slowing down other applications such as Outlook and Excel. Outlook constantly freezes. The hardware has issue too: 2 months after use, the screen started showing a vertical green line that runs through the middle of the screen. I had to call service to get it replaced.

They’ll keep it till the warranty runs out—but try to sell you extended “service”

Support sucks. Lenovo Yoga Book wouldn’t turn on one day. After several calls over two weeks (they kept claiming their systems were down—couldn’t issue a service ticket) they finally issued a service order so we could send it in for repair. That was four weeks ago and their system still says that they’re waiting to receive it (USPS confirmed delivery). Now if I call I am told they have it and I have to be patient. They try to sell me an extension of my warranty because the warranty is going to be up soon. Are you kidding me??? Of course, the warranty will be up soon because it’ll still be sitting in your repair shop! We didn’t get more than 9 months of use out of the thing. Pathetic. #LenovoSupportSucks

Do not buy an Ideapad

Do. Not. Buy. An Ideapad 320. It is extremely slow, freezes often, lags, stutters doing basic things, let alone for programs and gaming. Mine has i7-7gen, GeForce 940mx and 1tb hdd. Piece of junk.

Never get a Yoga Book (win 10)

I got a Windows 10 Yoga Book for myself a while ago and it is fucking stupid.
The Halo Keyboard is terrible to type on, the Yoga Book is slow and barely functions half of the time. There’s always some sort of issue. Drivers are a bitch to reinstall after resetting it. You’d think they’d install themselves but no, you have to go to the Lenovo page to get them and install them manually and even then you have some unidentified hardware without drivers which you will have to manually search up and install in order for things like GPS, Bluetooth, Vibration etc. to work properly. There are no updates to fix all the issues this thing has and it seems like Lenovo simply abandoned this abortion of a tablet.
The pen has no features at all, it’d be nice to have a button to configure, since you have no buttons at all while you are using the graphic tablet, since that is as well the Halo Keyboard, so you are stuck switching back to keyboard mode every now and then unless you get a bluetooth mouse and keyboard, which will suck the energy right out of the lowlife battery, but pretty much is your only option, since there is only one micro USB port on the Yoga Book and you will need that to keep it charging.
The tablet mode is useless and not worth switching to, it just makes things more complicated and the on-screen keyboard is a failure which covers up half the screen so you never see what you are typing.

It’s not worth 450 bucks, its not even worth half that.

LENOVO SUCKS

Lenovo sucks. The laptop is slow, it freezes up, and is unreliable. I will never buy another Lenovo product. it is a paperweight.

Don’t buy Lenovo. Just Don’t

Lenovo sucks. Never again.

I am writing from Bangkok.

I purchased the most expensive notebook I have ever purchased, a Lenovo Yoga 500 i7 with 8Gb of memory and 800MB HDD. It also comes with a touchscreen. This was a replacement for my trusty 15 year old Compaq celeron that gave me no trouble except it was too underpowered for todays OSes.

The first week the computer kept crashing. You know it’s a serious problem with the hardware when you just see a blank screen and the Lenovo boot screen appears. It would do this every 10 mins or so. I went to the Lenovo website and made sure all the Windows 10 drivers were up to date and the BIOS was the latest. Still same problem.

Took it into service. Lenovo outsource their service to the worst service company possible. The technician turned on the computer and said it was fine. I sat there for 10 mins trying to get the piece of crap to crash. After about 30 mins it did crash again and the technician accepted it was a hardware problem.

After about 2 weeks the computer came back to me. Original problem fixed and the receipt said replaced motherboard. I feel good about this.

I get home and the bottom panel of the computer is loose. I try to tighten the screws but they just spin in a circle and the bottom panel is still loose. I figure the muppets used an electric screwdriver to unscrew and screw the panel on stripping away all of the thread. So now I have a brand new computer that is now stuck together with tape.

But at least it works….

Now just over 1 years on and the computer fails to boot half the time. I go to Lenovo website and the latest BIOS update says there is an issue with a capacitor that causes the computer to fail to boot. So naturally I update the BIOS.

Now it fails to boot completely.

I now own a cheap HP notebook. Best decision I ever made to dump that Lenovo piece of crap and buy a proper computer.

Lenovo Does Suck

I bought a high-end Lenovo ideapad Y700 for video editing.

To begin with, the battery was DOA out of the box. When I called Lenovo support (really IBM support in disguise because Lenovo is too incompetent to maintain their own support), they said I would have to send it in for repair…wait for it…BECAUSE THE BATTERY IS NOT CONSUMER REPLACEABLE.

Since then, the unit freezes for no good reason until reboot and wifi intermittently shuts off.

Seriously, I have never owned a bigger POS. #neveragainlenovo

Lenovo ideapad 320 is garbage

I have a Lenovo ideapad 320 and i assure you it’s slow as hell.
You can’t paly a game with resolution as worse then a dog turd.
On the sticker on the laptop says ‘high-speed wifi’, a race of a snail against a sloth goes faster then the internet. the shift key is very small and the up and down arrow key too. if you wanna watch a video then i assure you that you’ll need half an hour for the buffering or more.

This was my review

Shitty Products, Shitty Customer Service

I’m ecstatic to find this website because I need a place to rant, not just about the sub-par Lenovo laptops, but also the shitty customer service.

Two years ago, I got the Lenovo Flex 3 as a high school graduation present. I thought it was great, and I happily took it off to college. 6 months later, right before finals, the entire lower portion of the laptop stopped working. The keypad didn’t respond, the USB plugs didn’t work, the track pad didn’t work, it didn’t charge, and for some reason, it no longer connected to the internet. (I guess it was a motherboard problem.) I was beside myself with frustration and contacted Lenovo customer support. I sent in my laptop for repairs, but they did not have the parts necessary to fix it. They said they would order parts but had no idea how long it would take for me to get my laptop back. I told them this was unacceptable because I was a college student and needed my laptop back before the next school semester started. I continued bugging customer service until my Lenovo Case Manager told me they would be sending me an upgraded Lenovo Flex 4! I thought this was an okay deal. Unfortunately, this was also the point my Case Manager stopped answering my emails and phone calls, so I had no clue when my new laptop was supposed to get to me. Thankfully, my laptop arrived into the second week of classes.

Happy ending? Try again. Around 18 months later, the Lenovo Flex 4 breaks, too. I’d never dropped it, or spilled liquid on it, but for some reason, the laptop stopped turning on. At this point, my laptop was no longer under warranty so I went to a repair shop that told me I needed a new motherboard but there wasn’t a motherboard I could buy that would be a perfect replacement. Great. So, I gave up on my Lenovo Flex 4 and now have an HP Pavilion and could not be happier. Lenovo sucks.

Lenovo is Sub-Standard

Bought a Lenovo ideapad 320 about 5 months ago.

This has been the worst computer purchase I’ve made in my lifetime of 51 years. I’ve had a few.

The issues are mostly with the operating system & internet connection issues. Never again Lenovo.

Lenovo Is So Wack

I have a Lenovo Yoga.

It sucks.

When you are typing a document in word, if you stop typing long enough for the screen to sleep, the touch pad stops working and you have to use your finger even though it’s not in tablet mode.

When you update, all your desktop icons disappear. I attempted to ask a question on their live chat and was forwarded to a screen that wanted 42$ to answer a question that in my opinion should be in a free forum.

I had an apple notebook and never had these issues. I thought the compatibility would be easier to PC’s but I’ve been more annoyed with this laptop than I ever was with my apple.

And with apple, I could easily visit a store and have my questions resolved for free.

Never again.

In fact, I will probably sell this laptop for half of what i payed and use the cash purchase something better and more predictable and reliable with better customer service after I spend nearly 1k!

LENOVO DOES SUCK!!

I purchased an 11″ laptop as I like a small computer.

NEVER AGAIN will I buy LENOVO. I have had laptops for many years but not ever had one that has very little storage. Most of the time I cannot even stay on an app very long without it closing down.

Only had the laptop for a month. HATE IT!!!

Lenovo = Junk

I’ve had a few computers through the years.

Made the mistake of buying a Lenovo Ideapad 320. I should have returned it. Biggest piece of crap and a total waste of money.

Slower than even my first computer from 25 years ago. Windows 10 sucks, too. Looks like I’m stuck with this electronic paperweight for now. Never again. Stay away from Lenovo junk.

BOYCOTT!! Lenovo Customer Service Sucks

My family owns four Yoga 3 laptops. They have all worked pretty well, EXCEPT the wall charger is a piece of junk. We have had four failures of wall chargers over a three year period and Lenovo’s crappy, India, “customer gets NO SERVICE” Department does not give a damn when you complain and try to reason with them. Buy a Lenovo and you will keep paying and paying and paying. Hate to say it, but I may go to Apple….

Great Lenovo Laptop

I have a Lenovo Laptop from Work and I have to say it is amazing.

It is just so fast. i7 processor. Starts up in a matter of seconds.

Speakers give great sound, best I’ve heard on a laptop.

Screen is great also.

Some small annoyances:

– It has no VGA output
– The scrolling is difficult, in a long web page or Word Document for example, as there is no Page Down and no Page Up keys. Instead you have to press a combination of keys, which is impossible with one hand. Other than that the keyboard is good.
– Windows 10 is annoying, but that is a Microsoft problem.

Overall, I’m very happy with it and can recommend Lenovo to anyone!

Not impresssed with Lenovo consumer line

I bought a IdealPad 110-15ISK laptop and spec wise it has a core i3 6100u 6Gb RAM and a 1TB hard drive.

It runs Windows 10 and my biggest complaint it that for the specs its just plain slow, and the laptop only has a very small single (mono) speaker on bottom edge of laptop.

The keyboard is probably the only positive feature I can say for this laptop. The screen looks like something on a $200 laptop, and the Elan TouchPad is dreadfully inaccurate.

I finally turned off features like pinch zoom on the touchpad because it was so annoying. I have seen better screen quality on a cheap Chromebook, and this laptops screen is so bad it basically ruins the ability to use it for very long it starts to strain your eyes.

I figured battery life had to be pretty good for a core i3 but I think the capacity of the battery is also too little to provide anymore then maybe 4 hours. I almost feel like Lenovo just sat down and figured every way possible to cut corners with this laptop.

I cannot ever remember having a laptop with only one speaker. I also can’t remember a laptop that has a fairly good hardware setup being so pathetically slow.

I feel as if I have a Celeron CPU and not a core i3. I am beginning to think that buying a $400 laptop these days is worse then buying a Chromebook.

If you want a decent laptop your going to have to double that $400 if you want at least some of the basics. Like good screen, decent sounding speakers, a precision touchpad and a fast hard drive, or SSD.

Lenovo customer service is less then helpful and generally give you fruitless tasks to do that will never solve any problems. Like they did with my speaker issue, it wasn’t a driver problem. It was the fact that the speaker is just one and of poor quality and located in a bad place. Might as well not installed a speaker.

My conclusion is that Lenovo thinks very little about design with their cheaper notebook line. Sure, their ThinkPad’s are some of the best notebooks. But steer clear of the consumer line.

Levono Really Does Suck

Lenovo – Yoga 13 Pro
Screws fallout
Touchpad B Grade
Sound quality poor – speakers distort

Support so bad it took two months to resolve a Keyboard problem, in the end the device was refunded by Lenovo, I purchased a second Lenovo – Bad choice.

I have been in the IT field for over 25 years, 2nd Lenovo model in 24 months, simply put: it is B Grade.

Lenovo really does suck – just a poor example of IT equipment, not built for today’s world.

Lenovo Customer for the Last Time

Own a Lenovo Laptop, which was quite expensive.

Lots of small things about it were broken from the start but I didn’t bother sending it in for repair.

Finally power and battery gave in. Can’t turn it on anymore.

Lenovo claimed it was my fault, that I had dropped it or something. So I got it back, unrepaired.

Will buy a new one, but NOT a Lenovo this time! Never again!
